NSW HOG June Long Weekend 2019 “BRASS MONKEYS”
Destination : Hunter Valley Wine Country
Accommodation : The Hermitage Motel Muswellbrook
All welcome.
Well the reccy has been done and an awesome weekend of Riding, Wine Tasting and Socialising is just waiting for YOU!
Over the 3 days we will ride by Rolling Rivers, past Famous Horse Studs and Magnificent Vineyards and get a glimpse of the Hidden Glenbawn Dam, this weekend has it all.
We have booked Lunches and Dinners and even Sunday’s Breakfast are at venues that can cater for our large group and that are also family friendly so the members bringing their Kids will have great places where they can relax and the kids can also enjoy.
Day Trippers are also welcome. You can make it an awesome day loop ride. Come for a short while or all the way to Lunch in Denman. There are many possibilities, but all are great rides.
Day One:
Departs McGraths Hill MacDonald’s (Groves Avenue) at 8.30am ….we will head out via Pitt Town continuing up through Wisemans Ferry, and Spencer then onto Kulnurra where we will stop for Morning tea.
We then head on through Wollembi to Broke at the start of the Hunter Wine Country where we will take a short break before pushing on to the Royal Hotel at Denman for lunch.
Great Dinning and plenty of space here, a big easy parking area for our group and also a Jumping Castle for the Kids and maybe big kids too!
After lunch its an easy short ride on the back roads to our accommodation the Hermitage Motel in Muswellbrook.
Dinner is booked from 6pm at the Workers Club which has been fully renovated and with an awesome setup for our big group and once again a great area for the kids, and the older kids have pool and snooker tables, darts and pokies or just a quiet coffee in the coffee lounge, you can even go to the Movies there, if that’s what you want.
Day Two:
Starting Early we have breakfast booked for 8am at the Cheese Factory just on the outskirts of town.
This place is not to be missed. Its quirky, a little informative, interesting and has great food. And make sure you have their fresh butter on bread, its made there, and its awwwesome.
From there we have a short loop ride out past Glenbawn Dam, a photo shoot on a Classic Country Bridge and then back to our accommodation where our bus will pick us up and take us on the Wine Tour.
Our first stop and tastings will be at Two Rivers just outside Denman.
Here we will have a light lunch and some time to stretch our legs, the kids should bring some balls or Frisbee’s as there is plenty or room on the grassed areas to run around.
From there we will visit another very impressive Winery and an Olive Farm where we can finish with a laid back break and coffee before returning to the Hermitage and the Car park Party/Pizza Night.
Day Three:
The return trip!
There are so many choices, we have two options planned for our return trip, and we will make a final group decision on the Day.
Both Options are fantastic riding.
Option one is via Bylong Valley Way , Rylestone and Lithgow where we will say our Farewells.
Option Two is to retrace some of our trip back to the Putty Rd and head down via Grey Gums then into Windsor.
